Laura Bridgwater is an award-winning writer and a state-certified teacher. She has written for newspapers, magazines, and blogs, and she is currently a radio commentator for KUNC.

When she’s not in her office writing, she is reading. And when she’s not doing either of those activities, she drives Mom’s Yellow Taxi Service. She was ecstatic when one of her humorous personal essays won first place in the National Federation of Press Women contest because then she had something to hang on the refrigerator next to her children’s work.

She lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with her family, and she loves nonfiction writing because, as Mark Twain said, truth is stranger than fiction.
